I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain. ~James Baldwin
Hate less, live longer. ~Ivy Culler
From the deepest desires often come the deadliest hate. ~Socrates
You lose a lot of time, hating people. ~Marian Anderson
I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
The price of hating other human beings is loving oneself less. ~Eldridge Cleaver
Hate cages all the good things about you. ~Madrianne Arvore
Hatred is one long wait. ~René Maran
A Rattlesnake, if Cornered will become so angry it will bite itself. That is exactly what the harboring of hate and resentment against others is - a biting of oneself. We think we are harming others in holding these spites and hates, but the deeper harm is to ourselves. ~E. Stanley Jones
I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him. ~Booker T. Washington
I never hold a grudge because while I am being angry, the other person is out dancing. ~Buddy Hackett

the painful side of love...
"..when Great love is rejected, something inside a man dies. So all he can do is run away, where he can meet the girl he will love second most. Unless you can get to him before he closes the book on you. Once it’s closed, it’s closed, it’s finished, it’s gone, dead, it's crushed, beated, it's buried, it's lost for all time in a sea .."

“A heart can be broken; but it keeps beating just the same.”
- Ninny Threadgoode
"She'll only break your heart, it’s a fact. And even though I warn you, even though I guarantee you that the girl will only hurt you terribly, you'll still pursue her. Ain't love grand?"
- Ms. Nora Dinsmoor
“I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair. I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare. I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind. I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme. I hate it, I hate the way you're always right. I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry. I hate it that you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call. But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.”
- Kat Stratford
“All our young lives we search for someone to love, someone to make us complete. We choose partners and change partners. We dance to a song of heartbreak and hope, all the while wondering if somewhere, somehow, someone perfect is searching for us.”

Little Timmy
It was fifteen years ago,
as his father filled out the form.
In the middle of July,
when little Timmy was born.
And later on that month,
his grand parents by plane.
Came to see Timmy,
but that night there was rain.
So they never quite got there,
to see their grand son.
As their plane went down,
and they where never heard from.
Little Timmy, Little Timmy,
not the once did you complain.
Through all of the sorrows,
tears and the pain.
Little Timmy, Little Timmy,
on your parade there's rain.
And why everyone leaves you,
no one has explained.
It was a few years later,
Timmy was almost four.
When his parents were fighting,
and his mother went out the door.
Yes she got in the car,
on that miserable night.
And as the rain poured down,
she drove out of sight.
All the police report said,
was she went off the road.
Exactly what happen,
Timmy was never told.
Little Timmy, Little Timmy,
not the once did you complain.
Through all of the sorrows,
tears and the pain.
Little Timmy, Little Timmy,
on your parade there's rain.
And why everyone leaves you,
no one has explained.
At the age of twelve,
death came calling again.
And this time Timmy lost,
his very best friend.
It was on yet another stormy night,
as lighting struck their home.
And the poor little child,
was there all alone.
Like Timmy he was twelve,
and Johnny was his name.
His house burned to the ground,
and he died in the flame.
Little Timmy, Little Timmy,
not the once did you complain.
Through all of the sorrows,
tears and the pain.
Little Timmy, Little Timmy,
on your parade there's rain.
And why everyone leaves you,
no one has explained.
It was a few years after,
the death of his pal.
When Timmy got sick,
and wasn't doing so well.
Now every night as he falls asleep,
he hears his father crying.
They are tears of pain and sorrow,
for little Timmy's dying.
And during that final day,
his father already a little shaken.
Burst into tears,
when Timmy would awaken.
Little Timmy, Little Timmy,
not the once did you complain.
Through all of the sorrows,
tears and the pain.
Little Timmy, Little Timmy,
on your parade there's rain.
And why everyone leaves you,

Bitch
I only said hello,
you laughed and said nothing.
I offered you a drink,
you refused and mumbled something.
I asked you for a dance,
you turned away and said no.
I mentioned my name,
you answered with yeah so.
I said you're very pretty,
you yawned like you were bored.
I tried to say good bye,
you totally ignored.
I turned to walk away,
you continued to be rude.
I thought to myself,
that's a bitch with an attitude.
But I left you with a smile,
even though you shot me down.
For I wouldn't let you think,
you were even worth a frown.
you laughed and said nothing.
I offered you a drink,
you refused and mumbled something.
I asked you for a dance,
you turned away and said no.
I mentioned my name,
you answered with yeah so.
I said you're very pretty,

The River
That one large river,
which flows so fast,
would stop anyone,
who wishes to pass.
With it's raging waters,
it seems alive,
all who enters,
none survive.
In crossing the river,
many have tried,
but no one has ever,
reached the other side.
There are walls of flame,
and walls of stone,
but the river is a wall,
that stands alone.
With the thought of it's power,
many would shiver,
it's an impassable barrier,
it's the mighty river.
which flows so fast,
would stop anyone,
who wishes to pass.
With it's raging waters,
it seems alive,
all who enters,
none survive.
In crossing the river,

Remembering
I remember not so long ago,
when you would sit next to me.
I remember I loved it so,
there was no place I'd rather be.
I remember your gentle voice,
and all you had to say.
I remember I had no choice,
as deeper I'd fall each day.
I remember those little glances,
that at times we had shared.
I remember all those chances,
I had to say I cared.
I remember my strong affection,
and that I never told you.
I remember the fear of rejection,
now I fear I'll never hold you.
I remember watching you leave,
I wanted to yell out "no."
I remember I couldn't believe,
that I didn't say "don't go."
I remember I let you walk away,
without even saying a word.
I remember the feelings I wished to say,
are feelings you've never heard.
I remember not so long ago,
when you would sit next to me.
I remember, and this I know,
you are my favorite memory.
Never let those whom you care for become only a memory.
Keep them in you life.
when you would sit next to me.
I remember I loved it so,
there was no place I'd rather be.
I remember your gentle voice,
and all you had to say.

Beautiful World
Can you feel the wind, it's gentle breeze,
and the coolness of the shade, underneath the trees.
Can you hear the rain, it's soothing sound,
and the pitter patter, as it hits the ground.
Can you see the sunset, in the evening sky,
and the darkness that follows, so peaceful to the eye.
Can you find the beauty, it's everywhere,
just look with your heart, trust me it is there.
Beauty is everywhere!
and the coolness of the shade, underneath the trees.
Can you hear the rain, it's soothing sound,
and the pitter patter, as it hits the ground.
Can you see the sunset, in the evening sky,
and the darkness that follows, so peaceful to the eye.
Can you find the beauty, it's everywhere,

Beauty is everywhere!
Mr Heart of Ice
As I listen to the thunder,
I sit here and I wonder,
can I make it on my own.
And as I look for the lightning,
I realize that it is frighting,
that I am all alone.
While the rain is pouring down,
there is no smiling just a frown,
for I know I've had enough.
And there is a chill in the air,
that fills my heart with fear,
knowing I have never loved.
As the air gets even colder,
I come to grips that I'm much older,
and soon I will die.
Just as the thunder lightning ceases,
I feel like I am in pieces,
and so I begin to cry.
With the rain changing to snow,
I am wondering where did time go,
and what has happened to me.
And there is a chill in the air,
that fills my soul with fear,
thinking can this really be.
As the snow forms a protective cover,
I remember when I once loved her,
and my frown becomes a smile.
As the sun fights for power,
I shine on in this my finest hour,
but it has been awhile.
Now the sun in complete control,
lifts a burden from my soul,
and I believe in life, love and christ.
With no chill left in the air,
my heart and soul without fear,
it's the end of Mr. Heart of Ice!
I sit here and I wonder,
can I make it on my own.
And as I look for the lightning,
I realize that it is frighting,
that I am all alone.
While the rain is pouring down,

Before Peace
Peace is not a decision; it's a goal. You don't decide to have peace, you decide that you want to have peace, and than you work towards it. The work is the change needed before peace.
Now peace is obtained,
one step at a time.
Starting individually,
with a peaceful state of mind.
And peace on earth,
will just have to wait.
Until every individual,
is in their peaceful state.
When this is complete,
and everyone's mind is at rest,
then we turn to global peace,
which is next on the list.
First the fightings must stop,
then the wars must cease.
And we have to trust one another,
before we can achieve peace.
Next we have to realize,
that the earth is not a toy.
And more importantly,
that it's not ours to destroy.
For the earth is not our property,
it;s not something we own.
No it belongs to our children,
and we have it on loan.
So we can;t go burning the forest,
or do whatever we wish.
We can't pollute the waters,
cause we're killing the fish.
Life has to be respected,
then the killings will end.
Lastly we must believe in love,
before peace can begin.
World peace demands not only a peace, but also a world.
One is not much good without the other.
Now peace is obtained,
one step at a time.

with a peaceful state of mind.

Goddess
She is my one religion,
and that is plain and simple.
She herself is the goddess,
and her body's the temple.
And oh what I wouldn't give,
to visit that holy place.
I'd be so close to heaven,
that I'd get a first hand taste.
and that is plain and simple.
She herself is the goddess,
and her body's the temple.
And oh what I wouldn't give,
to visit that holy place.
I'd be so close to heaven,

Believe
Sometimes belief is hard to find,
very difficult to achieve.
It's not exactly easy,
to totally believe.
To believe without proof.
To believe without doubt.
To believe without knowing,
what it is really all about.
But it's such a strong and firm emotion,
as solid as a stone.
And when you experience belief,
in your face it will be shown.
Sometimes belief is everything,
without it there's only space.
But belief brings it all together,
puts everything in it's place.
Belief can be a tool, a weapon,
or even something more.
Belief can create or destroy,
and give us reason to explore.
To explore the unexplored,
to learn the unknown.
To discover new and better things,
and than hope that we have grown.
Sometimes belief can be a medicine,
to help you when you're ill.
Yes belief can do so much,
strong belief may even heal.
If you believe that you are fine,
no matter what the disease.
Then this belief may help you,
conquer it with ease.
Cause you refuse to let go of life,
with even one dream unsatisfied.
Believing it could have been reality,
if only you had tried.
Sometimes belief can be enough,
enough to get you by.
If you just believed,
than maybe you could fly.
Belief could be the magic,
that we've been looking for.
With just a little belief,
we may even soar.
Soar above the clouds,
with our arms spread wide.
A smile on our face,
and belief on our side.
You Gotta Believe!

Failing the Test
New rulers make promises,
hoping support they will gain.
But the only thing that changes,
is the rulers name.
They say battles are fought and won,
by soldiers filled with pride.
But I don't see how there's a winner,
when there are soldiers who have died.
Revolutions come and go,
rulers rise and fall.
But is there any purpose,
what's the meaning of it all.
God created this world,
putting humans above the rest.
And as we destroy his creation,
we also fail his test.
hoping support they will gain.
But the only thing that changes,
is the rulers name.
They say battles are fought and won,
by soldiers filled with pride.
But I don't see how there's a winner,
when there are soldiers who have died.

Somewhere Tonight (by Bob Seger)
Somewhere tonight
Someones reachin out to someone whos refusin
Someones tired of all the reasons someones using
Someone doesnt understand
Somewhere tonight
Someones thinkin back to someone who got closer
Someones realizin somethings really over
Someones thinkin its too late
Someones thinkin its too late
Theres a cold wind blowin from the north
And the summer birds are leavin
As the sun slips ever further south
The lakes will soon be freezin
And the ice will claim the empty shores
Where the ones in love went walkin
And the hard blue skies will shiver
As the winter clouds come stalkin
And unless you find someone to hold
Unless someone starts carin
Unless you find the warmth you need
Unless someone starts sharin
When the long, dark nights come closin in
And the winter winds come howlin
You dont know if youll make it
Without someone you can count on
Somewhere tonight
Someones packin up and someones really leavin
Someones not quite sad - only disbelievin
Someones walkin out the door
Someones walkin out the door
Someones reachin out to someone whos refusin
Someones tired of all the reasons someones using
Someone doesnt understand
Somewhere tonight
Someones thinkin back to someone who got closer
Someones realizin somethings really over

An Innocent Man (by Billy Joel)
Some people stay far away from the door
If there's a chance of it opening up
They hear a voice in the hall outside
And hope that it just passes by
Some people live with the fear of a touch
And the anger of having been a fool
They will not listen to anyone
So nobody tells them a lie
I know you're only protecting yourself
I know you're thinking of somebody else
Someone who hurt you
But I'm not above
Making up for the love
You've been denying you could ever feel
I'm not above doing anything
To restore your faith if I can
Some people see through the eyes of the old
Before they ever get a look at the young
I'm only willing to hear you cry
Because I am an innocent man
I am an innocent man
Oh yes I am
Some people say they will never believe
Another promise they hear in the dark
Because they only remember too well
They heard somebody tell them before
Some people sleep all alone every night
Instead of taking a lover to bed
Some people find that it's easier to hate
Than to wait anymore
I know you don't want to hear what I say
I know you're gonna keep turning away
But I've been there and if I can survive
I can keep you alive
I'm not above going through it again
I'm not above being cool for a while
If you're cruel to me I'll understand
Some people run from a possible fight
Some people figure they can never win
And although this is a fight I can lose
The accused is an innocent man
I am an innocent man
Oh yes I am
An innocent man
You know you only hurt yourself out of spite
I guess you'd rather be a martyr tonight
That's your decision
But I'm not below
Anybody I know
If there's a chance of resurrecting a love
I'm not above going back to the start
To find out where the heartache began
Some people hope for a miracle cure
Some people just accept the world as it is
But I'm not willing to lay down and die
Because I am an innocent man
I am an innocent man
Oh yes I am
An innocent man
If there's a chance of it opening up
They hear a voice in the hall outside

She's Always a Woman (by Billy Joel)
She can kill with a smile
She can wound with her eyes
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
And she only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child
But she's always a woman to me
She can lead you to live
She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth
But she'll never believe you
And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free
She steals like a thief
But she's always a woman to me
Oh, she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh, and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind
She will promise you more
Than the Garden of Eden
Then she'll carelessly cut you
And laugh while you're bleedin'
But she'll bring out the best
And the worst you can be
Blame it all on yourself
Cause she's always a woman to me
She is frequently kind
And she's suddenly cruel
She can do as she pleases
She's nobody's fool
But she can't be convicted
She's earned her degree
And the most she will do
Is throw shadows at you
But she's always a woman to me
She can wound with her eyes
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
And she only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child
But she's always a woman to me
She can lead you to live
She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth
But she'll never believe you
And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free
She steals like a thief
But she's always a woman to me
Oh, she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh, and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind
She will promise you more
Than the Garden of Eden

Cheer (by Robert W. Service)
It's a mighty good world, so it is, dear lass,
When even the worst is said.
There's a smile and a tear, a sigh and a cheer,
But better be living than dead;
A joy and a pain, a loss and a gain;
There's honey and may be some gall:
Yet still I declare, foul weather or fair,
It's a mighty good world after all.
For look, lass! at night when I break from the fight,
My Kingdom's awaiting for me;
There's comfort and rest, and the warmth of your breast,
And little ones climbing my knee.
There's fire-light and song -- Oh, the world may be wrong!
Its empires may topple and fall:
My home is my care -- if gladness be there,
It's a mighty good world after all.
O heart of pure gold! I have made you a fold,
It's sheltered, sun-fondled and warm.
O little ones, rest! I have fashioned a nest;
Sleep on! you are safe from the storm.
For there's no foe like fear, and there's no friend like cheer,
And sunshine will flash at our call;
So crown Love as King, and let us all sing --
"It's a mighty good world after all."
When even the worst is said.
There's a smile and a tear, a sigh and a cheer,
But better be living than dead;
A joy and a pain, a loss and a gain;

The Quitter (by Robert W. Service)
When you're lost in the Wild, and you're scared as a child,
To cock your revolver and . . . die.
But the Code of a Man says: "Fight all you can,"
And self-dissolution is barred.
In hunger and woe, oh, it’s easy to blow . . .
It’s the hell-served-for-breakfast that’s hard.
"You're sick of the game!" Well, now that’s a shame.
You're young and you're brave and you're bright.
"You've had a raw deal!" I know — but don't squeal,
Buck up, do your damnedest, and fight.
It’s the plugging away that will win you the day,
So don't be a piker, old pard!
Just draw on your grit, it’s so easy to quit.
It’s the keeping-your chin-up that’s hard.
It’s easy to cry that you're beaten — and die;
It’s easy to crawfish and crawl;
But to fight and to fight when hope’s out of sight —
Why that’s the best game of them all!
And though you come out of each gruelling bout,
All broken and battered and scarred,
Just have one more try — it’s dead easy to die,
It’s the keeping-on-living that’s hard.
And Death looks you bang in the eye,
And you're sore as a boil, it’s according to HoyleTo cock your revolver and . . . die.
But the Code of a Man says: "Fight all you can,"
And self-dissolution is barred.
In hunger and woe, oh, it’s easy to blow . . .

My Son (by Lillian Buffett)
September 11th, year 1973,
a little boy was born to me.
I loved him so, he was so sweet.
A tiny thing, with big, big feet.
Lots of hair, a great big smile.
He was my precious little child.
I already had a dear dear son,
together they had lots of fun.
All through the years they played and fought.
Their Mom and Dad loved them a lot.
Through good times, sick times, bad times too,
they did the best that they could do.
Now they've grown to fine young men.
Mom and Dad are proud of them.
They're kind and gentle and very sweet,
with bigger smiles and bigger feet.
And as they go out in the world,
leave their mom, maybe find a girl,
always ever, they should know,
their Mom and Dad will love them so!

The Eagle's Eyes
The scared little rabbit,
no matter how he tries,
cannot avoid,
the eagle's eyes.
We will run and hide,
and put up a fight.
But it's too late,
when he's in the eagle's sight.
Cause the eagle's sight,
it's so precise.
He only looks once,
and never twice.
Through the eagle's eyes,
imagine the view.
I bet you'd see everything,
that you wanted too.
And way up above,
as he flies,
I would love to see through,
the eagle's eyes.
no matter how he tries,
cannot avoid,
the eagle's eyes.
We will run and hide,
and put up a fight.

The Knowledge Seeker
I want to know everything,
right back to our creation.
Especially the little things,
some would say useless information.
The facts our parents have forgotten,
the ideas not taught in college.
The secrets behind true happiness,
and the wisdom to deal with knowledge.

three little words
May I have a word with you?
Actually, let's make it two.
Better yet, three will do.
Three little words, "I love you!"
Actually, let's make it two.
Better yet, three will do.
Three little words, "I love you!"
Peter
There was once a young boy,
who never wished to be a man.
He came from a place,
known as Never Never Land.
His friends were the Lost Boys,
they were called Peter's band.
But he also had enemies,
like Hook with one hand.
And did you know he could fly,
with the help of Tinker's sand?
This young boy's story is known,
as the legend of Peter Pan.
If we're lucky there's a little of Peter in all of us.
who never wished to be a man.
He came from a place,
known as Never Never Land.
His friends were the Lost Boys,
they were called Peter's band.
But he also had enemies,
like Hook with one hand.
And did you know he could fly,

too damn cool
Don't be naive, I disagree.
Naive is the best thing a person can be.
Blind to the hurt, tomorrow may hold.
Deaf to the lies, they have been told.
Filled with a trust, we all wish to achieve.
Free of the fear, because they truly believe.
In the game of love, they'll bet on queen high.
They might not win, but at least they try.
So don't be naive, I ask you why not?
Without naivete, what have you got?
You got your pride, for you're the man.
Why play the game, if you might lose a hand?
No you're too smart, you're no fool.
Only fools fall in love, and you're too damn cool!

Canadian Sonnet
Now please listen to me,
and try to understand.
All the way from B.C.,
across to Newfoundland.
This country is our pride,
Vancouver to St. John's.
There's beauty far and wide,
in our hills, trees and ponds.
But there's more to this land,
than beautiful places.
Like folks who lend a hand,
and kind friendly faces.
So please remember this,
Canada is the best!!
and try to understand.

across to Newfoundland.

Phone Calls
Through word of mouth, I heard of a job down south,
and I had just been fired.
So I thought I'd try, and they phone to reply,
that I had just be hired.
But what do you know, my girlfriend couldn't go,
she had a job already.
But she promise to write, and call every night,
as we were going steady.
And she gave me a call, my little baby doll,
said, "Hi, how are you doing dear?"
"Having a hell of a time, doing just fine,
but I wish that you were here."
"So do I, not a word of a lie,
and I'm really missing you John."
"And you know it's the truth, when I tell you Ruth,
that I've loved you all along."
She said she wanted me home, she didn't like it alone,
and of course I knew why.
We had to agree, to hang up on three,
so it was one, two and good-bye.
The phone went down, and I had to frown,
as I missed her oh so much.
Yes I truly did miss, her and her kiss,
and also her tender touch.
She called back again, to announce the end,
and nearly did I cry.
Puzzled and confused, until she repeated the news,
and then I asked her why?
She couldn't take being apart, as it was breaking her heart,
and the strength she just couldn't find.
I begged and plead, but with all that I said,
I still coudn't change her mind.
So she hung up the phone, and I heard dial tone,
and man I felt so down.
I couldn't handle the pain, so I caught the next train,
heading out of town.
I was in a race, to get to her place,
as I hurried as fast as I could.
Through her door I ran, found her and a man,
and naked they both stood.
It really caught me off guard, I took it real hard,
but I never said a word.
I just walked out the door, and my footsteps on the floor,
was the only sound they heard.
And for the next week, to no one would I speak,
I wouldn't even answer the phone.
For I had lost all pride, so I stayed inside,
as I wished to be alone.
Then came the day, as my life wasted away,
when my will power just gave.
It took me awhile, as I started to dial,
for I wasn't feeling to brave.
Then came her voice, and I had a choice,
to hang up or to go on.
So I said, "You know it's the truth, when I tell you Ruth,
that I loved you all along."
Then as I heard her cry, a tear came from my eye,
and slowly ran down my cheek.
No harsh words of violence, nothing only silence,
as neither of us would speak.
And then as she cries, she starts to apologize,
saying she's still my baby doll.
I wanted to believe her, as I listened through the receiver,
but it ended with that phone call.
and I had just been fired.
So I thought I'd try, and they phone to reply,

He Sits 2
He sits amazed, transfixed
at all God may have made.
He sits and wonders if she realizes,
it's okay to be afraid.
He sees her sitting there,
startled by an eagle's cry.
He doesn't question that she believes,
he only questions why?
He understands the comforts,
that come with belief.
He can grasp the feeling of love,
a constant through her joys and her grief.
He truly wishes to be like her,
and have something to believe in.
He can see in her face,
that her life has meaning.
But he wonders if it's all,
just another person's story.
Tainted by mankind's desire,
to give God his glory.
He truly feels mankind believes,
that the world revolves around them.
He see the influence of this belief,
in every passage, in every hymm.
But as he listens to the eagle,
soaring up above.
He wonders if this eagle,
is any less worthy of God's love.
He looks beyond her to a tree,
it's branches reaching for the sky.
He wonders if it has a relationship with God,
and if not, then why?
He wonders why it is,
that of all God's creations,
Mankind is the only one,
with conditions upon it's salvation?
He doesn't see how,
we can even assume to understand.
For we can't look through the eyes of God,
as if God were a man.
He cannot bring himself to believe,
what he's read, what he's heard.
For it's more about God's relationship with us,
than it is God's word.
He believes God's love is there,
free for all God's creations.
There are no rules or conditions,
no certain obligations.
He doesn't trust in any books,
or words that are written.
He trusts in God,
and the heart he was given.
He believes in doing the right thing,
because it's the right thing to do.
Not because heaven and God,
will be waiting for you.
He believes in this,
and he starts to smile.
For all this time,
he believed all the while.

She Sits 2 (by Kendra Slade)
She sits amazed, transfixed
at all God created and made.
She sits in tranquil peace, knowing
there is no reason to be afraid.
She senses the gaze
of a stranger's eye.
But she is interrupted by
the sweet sound of an eagle's cry.
She sits pondering, wondering
and speaks a silent prayer.
She finds her comfort knowing the
Creator of the Universe sees her there.
She shares with Him her
needs and her life.
Feeling at peace, she feels the release from
her concerns and strife.
She says, "God, I thank you for
your love and creation.
But use me Lord to show
your love and salvation."

He Sits
He sits staring, dreaming,
lost in so called reality.
Puzzled, confused and questioning,
is it all God's creativity?
His doubting eyes are directed at the field below,
there sits a solitary girl.
Mesmerized by her happiness, wondering
where she found it in this world?
He sits transfixed by her powerful spell,
for there's a belief in her eyes.
Amazed at her inner peace, picturing
a feeling he may never realize.
He questions if she understands,
that it is a gift she has been given.
For the very reason for our existence is to
find the one thing we can believe in.

She Sits (by Kendra Slade)
She sits staring, dreaming,
lost in her own reality.
Overwhelmed, marveled in total awe
at the finger print of God's creativity.
Her astonished eyes are directed at the designs above,
the sun winning a glorious duel.
Mesmerized at the white patterns, floating
across a tapestry of sea blue.
She sits transfixed by it's powerful spell of
majestic wonder and beauty.
Amazed at the masterpiece, picture
perfect of God's artistry.
She questions why humanity could take
for granted or deny such perfection.
When the reason of it's existence is to
unearth the beauty of God's affection.

Captured
I know my feelings,
I've known from the start.
Yet there are no words to express,
what is felt by the heart.
A joy, a fear,
combined and apart.
A love from within,
is all felt by the heart.
I know my feelings,
and the fears I must face.
Shyness won't prevent,
what is shared in an embrace.
A thrill, a rush,
the heart's quicken pace.
A warmth from within,
is all shared in an embrace.
I know my feelings,
they are hidden behind lies.
However words cannot hide,
what is told by the eyes.
A trust, a respect,
as endless as the skies.
A compassion from within,
is all told by the eyes.
I know my feelings,
but not the words to express.
For words cannot capture,
what is captured in a kiss.
A desire, a passion,
an eternity of bliss.
A love from within,
is all captured in a kiss.
I've known from the start.
Yet there are no words to express,
what is felt by the heart.
A joy, a fear,

However words cannot hide,
what is told by the eyes.
A trust, a respect,
as endless as the skies.
A compassion from within,
is all told by the eyes.
I know my feelings,
but not the words to express.
For words cannot capture,
what is captured in a kiss.
A desire, a passion,
an eternity of bliss.
A love from within,
is all captured in a kiss.

Someone
Sometimes you will need,
someone just to listen.
Someone to pour your heart out to,
no advice to be given.
Sometimes you will need,
someone just to hold.
Someone to put your arms around,
feeling safe without being told.
Sometimes you will need,
someone's shoulder to lean on.
Someone to wipe away your tears,
and protect you from your demons.
Sometimes you will need,
someone to make you smile.
Someone to take away your worries,
if only for awhile.
Sometimes you will need,
someone to love you.
Someone to love you just as much,
as god up above you.
Sometimes you will need,
someone for whom to care.
Someone to love and trust and know,
that they will always be there.
Can I be your someone?
someone just to listen.
Someone to pour your heart out to,
no advice to be given.
Sometimes you will need,
someone just to hold.
Someone to put your arms around,
feeling safe without being told.
Sometimes you will need,
someone's shoulder to lean on.
Someone to wipe away your tears,
and protect you from your demons.
Sometimes you will need,
someone to make you smile.
Someone to take away your worries,
if only for awhile.
Sometimes you will need,
someone to love you.
Someone to love you just as much,
as god up above you.
Sometimes you will need,
someone for whom to care.
Someone to love and trust and know,
that they will always be there.
Can I be your someone?
Sanity's End
I'd like to explain,
the immense pain,
so inhumane,
that drives a mind insane.
Like others I've fought,
with the probable thought,
the brain has gone to rot,
but I feel this is not.
On the other hand,
it begins to expand,
trying to understand,
all that it can.
Daring and bold,
questioning what it's told,
trying to grasp hold,
ideas both new and old.
Then a sudden demise,
as it comes to realize,
the deception of it's eyes,
for truths are really lies.
Confusion all over again,
time no longer a friend,
nothing left to believe in,
can you comprehend?
It's sanity at it's end!
the immense pain,
so inhumane,
that drives a mind insane.
Like others I've fought,
with the probable thought,
the brain has gone to rot,
but I feel this is not.
On the other hand,
it begins to expand,

The Measure
What is the measure of a man?
A boy,
With physical strength,
he'll be sturdy and strong.
With emotional strength,
he shall carry on.
With true friends,
he'll go where no one has gone.
With belief in his dreams,
how can he go wrong?
And a boy,
With desire to achieve,
his will to win shall stay.
With confidence in himself,
it'll seem as if he owns the day.
With a love for life,
nothing shall stand in his way.
With all of the above,
inside him a man shall lay.
Yet a man,
With no strengths or friends,
is nothing more than a pain.
With no desires or dreams,
because he thinks they're insane.
With no confidence or love,
is just a little too plain.
With none of these,
they are all the same.
They are all men, but not the one of them a "man".
For age alone, does not make a "man".
A boy,
With physical strength,
he'll be sturdy and strong.
With emotional strength,
he shall carry on.
With true friends,
he'll go where no one has gone.

Beauty
What is beauty?
Is beauty,
a blossomed rose?
Or is beauty,
a newborn baby,
with it's little fingers and toes?
What is beauty,
besides a word,
in a line?
And why is beauty,
always so,
very hard to define?
What is beauty,
but nature,
at it's best?
And can beauty,
be obtained,
with only a request?
What is beauty?
Is it heaven,
when we die?
Or is beauty,
like they say,
in the beholder's eye?
What is beauty,
just another,
pretty face?
And why is beauty,
always hidden,
in a special place?
What is beauty?
Is it something,
bottled on a shelf?
No, I know beauty,
as I know you,
for you are beauty itself!
Is beauty,
a blossomed rose?
Or is beauty,
a newborn baby,
with it's little fingers and toes?
What is beauty,

What might have been
here I am, in the shower
i've been here, for an hour
remembering, us back then
pondering, what might have been.
i close my eyes, i see you smile
shadows of happiness, it's been awhile
for it left, I don't know when
and so i wonder, what might have been.
the waters cold, i start to shake
i ask myself, was it a mistake
allowing it, all to end
questioning, what might have been.
i lower my head, i believe i'm crying
the "i'm fine" stance, i'm no longer buying
now i feel, the tears descend
longing for, what might have been.
the waters off, yet still i stand
lost in thought, in a distant land
i want you back, where to begin
no more thinking, what might have been.
instead i should call, say i love you still
sadly i won't, no i never will
for that courage, i cannot find within
and so i'll wonder, what might have been.
other showers, have come and gone
none of which, had last as long
so i grab, paper and pen
and try to voice, what may have been.
feelings explored, for me to consider
and maybe an email, that i may never deliver
just this poem, would be all i would send
telling of that shower, and what might have been.

Why did she leave?
Why don't you understand,
that I would never deceive thee?
I'm a truthful man,
why don't you believe me?
Please don't run away,
I'm not here to harm you.
Why won't you stay?
Do I alarm you?
Was it something that I said,
that made you so scared?
Was it something that I did,
that you truly feared?
Whatever I'm being blamed for,
I think I should be told.
Meanwhile I'll let the flame roar,
cause you feel so cold.
I know I caused you pain,
for that I am so sorry.
I guess I was too plain,
when you wanted glory.
But please you must forgive,
whatever I have or haven't done.
It's time for us to live,
a life that's filled with fun.
And maybe I'll never know,
the fault that I have made.
But hopefully your love shall grow,
and your hatred it shall fade.
Cause believe me when I tell you,
that I love what we have built.
And believe me cause it's so true,
that this is an unknown guilt.
Was is something that you've heard,
or something that you've seen?
Was it simply an unkind word,
or something really mean?
Whatever it was all about,
it must have been a lie.
And if you still have any doubt,
than I guess we'll say good bye.
You'll say, "this is where it ends",
and I can go to hell.
I'll say, "let's still be friends,
good bye my dear, farewell."
And as we walk our separate ways,
down our separate paths.
I'll still remember the good days,
when we share so many laughs.
that I would never deceive thee?
I'm a truthful man,
why don't you believe me?
Please don't run away,
I'm not here to harm you.
Why won't you stay?

Chance Encounter
My story begins with a chance encounter,
without which I would not have found her.
The moment I seen her, pastures became greener,
and I was in love.
Every detail about her, burnt into my mind,
like the way she smiled as she asked me the time.
It was nine thirty three, heaven had visited me,
and I was in love.
Her beauty, her innocence, her entire look,
the way she blushed when she dropped her book.
Like no other girl, she became my world,
and I was in love.
I returned the book that she was reading,
she thanked me and I stopped breathing.
No sweater words, had I ever heard,
and I was in love.
The touch of her hand, the smell of her hair,
I close my eyes and I am there.
No girl before, had affected me more,
and I was in love.
My story ends with a chance encounter,
the very same one with which I found her.
So ended my visit to heaven, it was nine thirty seven,
and I was in love.
without which I would not have found her.
The moment I seen her, pastures became greener,
and I was in love.
Every detail about her, burnt into my mind,
like the way she smiled as she asked me the time.

Being Shy
I'm always uncertain,
what's behind the curtain,
or in the pages of a book.
And although I'm curious,
it makes me so furious,
that I haven't the nerve to look.
For what comes after,
a kiss or laughter,
fear prevents me from finding out.
So take away my slavery,
and give me the bravery,
to deal with the fear of doubt.
Then I can remove the mask,
and finally ask,
what I've always wanted too.
Free of the disguise,
I could look in your eyes,
and say, "I love you!"
I could ask for a dance,
or start a romance,
with just a little shove.
For I took aim,
pulled the trigger won the game,
the game known as love.
But no game has been played,
for in reality I'm afraid,
and I don't know where to start.
Oh but if I could,
oh yes if I would,
I would give you my heart.
I would win the game,
and reveal the flame,
that has been ignited.
And by the light of the fire,
I'd confess my desire,
and I wouldn't have to fight it.
A desire that is forbidden,
a love that is hidden,
and words that remain unspoken.
Tears I haven't cried,
hope that hasn't died,
and a heart that has never been broken.
But unbroken is not enough,
a heart needs to love,
even it that love must end.
Cause until a person tries,
they'll never realize,
that a broken heart shall mend.
what's behind the curtain,
or in the pages of a book.
And although I'm curious,
it makes me so furious,
that I haven't the nerve to look.
For what comes after,

The Dream
She is,
as you know her,
a very beautiful creature,
with very beautiful features.
Her eyes,
at times,
so soft with love and trust,
other times,
so sensuous with desire and lust.
Her lips,
when she kisses,
awaken every desire in your body,
when she smiles,
there's a beauty,
you swear it must be godly.
Her hair,
all it's length,
blowing in the wind,
the scent,
the softness,
matched only by her skin.
Her body,
with a gown or a sweater,
is that of a goddess,
she is one of the few,
who can look,
both beautiful and modest.
Her voice,
so soothing and sexy,
you fall in love with each word,
to beautiful to be described,
it has to be heard.
Her mind,
with all it's thoughts and ideas,
creates the mysterious creature,
at the same time,
is her most beautiful feature.
Asleep,
she is the goddess,
you would never resist,
awake,
she is a dream,
you wonder if she exist.
as you know her,
a very beautiful creature,
with very beautiful features.
Her eyes,
at times,
so soft with love and trust,
other times,
so sensuous with desire and lust.
Her lips,

Naive
Call me naive, but I'd rather believe,
than to go through life with doubt.
Unhurt but alone, some call it home,
it's a home I can live without.
So give me the hurt, I'll sleep in the dirt,
for no pain is ever too much.
Cause pain is only part, of what makes a broken heart,
first it has to be touched.
It's the unfounded fears, of potential tears,
that keeps a relationship at bay.
Fearing the sorrow, that may come tomorrow,
prevents you from loving today.
So alone you remain, just you and your pain,
safe from another heartache.
But half of the fun, of loving someone,
are the chances that you take.
For love has a history, a magic and a mystery,
and no secrets left untold.
Where once there was you, now there are two,
now you have someone to hold.
But if you must, go ahead and distrust,
me I'm going to believe.
For I know enough, to know there is pain with love,
and that's not being naive.
than to go through life with doubt.
Unhurt but alone, some call it home,
it's a home I can live without.
So give me the hurt, I'll sleep in the dirt,
for no pain is ever too much.

Sitting Friends
We are sitting so close together,
yet the distance seems so far.
I want to hold you in my arms,
but you're happy where you are.
So I guess I'll just sit here,
my feelings I'll restrain.
And that distance between us,
shall continue to remain.
And even though I might want more,
I know it can never be.
For these feelings I have towards you,
you do not have for me.
Everyday you're in my thoughts,
and every night my dreams.
And every time I need a friend,
you're always there it seems.
So as we sit here, I ask myself,
is this where it ends?
You and me, always forever,
just sitting friends?
yet the distance seems so far.
I want to hold you in my arms,
but you're happy where you are.
So I guess I'll just sit here,
my feelings I'll restrain.
And that distance between us,
shall continue to remain.
